ACTOR TIPS: HOW TO MASTER THE SELF-TAPE

Tip #1 Use Clear Sound - use a studio quality microphone, even using your phone mic record your voice in a quiet room.

Tip #2 Use a clean and plain Backdrop solid colors like blue white and grey are best.

Tip #3 Camera Composition Stand in center of the frame in visible sight. Be sure to look off camera? Not in the lens.

Tip #4 Reading Partner- Invaluable to self taping is your reading partner.

You know acting is about listening so find someone to listen to so you don't act at the camera. but instead, pull them into a new world that is very real. Ask a friend or acting classmate to stand off camera and read the other characters line.
